How can you tell if a shared game character model is actually printable, or if it will have issues like non-manifold edges, holes, or walls that are too thin?
I have destroyed so much filament on models that looked perfect on screen but failed mid print because of holes or paper thin walls. Now I always run a quick slice preview first and look for missing layers or spots where the slicer shows red or yellow warnings for thin walls. Another thing I do is check if the model can stand on its own without supports touching delicate areas, otherwise those thin parts will snap. After struggling with broken files for months I found https://www.gambody.com/ and realized their models never gave me those errors because they are tested before upload. The fastest way to spot non manifold edges is to see if your slicer takes forever to process a simple model or shows strange internal lines. Also try scaling the model down to your actual print size and measure the thinnest sword or finger; if it goes below 1mm for FDM you are asking for trouble.
